Living as a Purpose Driven Mom and Business Owner with Jennifer McDaniel (Ep 122)
Are you ready to make a change in your life?
Have you felt a nudge from God to follow a different path?
Is there something deep inside your spirit that is telling you to take a risk, do something different, and follow your dream?
Listen to this episode to hear the inspirational story of how my guest, Jennifer McDaniel, took that risk, tried something different, followed God's path, and made her dream happen!
Just a few years ago, Jennifer McDaniel was feeling overwhelmed by family health issues and the struggles of being a stay-at-home mom to 4 kids. She was burnt out from helping everyone and putting everyone else's needs first. She felt like her cup was empty and she had nothing left to give. She decided to put herself first and attended my 2019 Created Order Conference in Charlotte, NC. Getting there wasn't easy, but she knew God had a path for her so she made it happen.
Often times right before you are ready to go to the next level, there will be obstacles to overcome. This is when you learn perseverance. As a mom, we often give into those obstacles or guilt but you have to take time for yourself to hear your inner voice to know where your path should take you. It is important to give yourself time, be calm, stop running, and listen.
You don't have to have all the answers. You can figure it out as you go. Follow where you are guided and the answers will come. I know many of you want to live on purpose and are waiting for everything to be perfectly lined up and have all the answers.
If you have a dream in your heart you need to give yourself permission to try, even if it's a little bit at a time. Surround yourself with women who are highly motivated, and encouraging and you will get there.
Now that Jennifer McDaniel is a purpose-driven mom, she is no longer stuck in the daily mess. She is living intentionally with purpose and you can too!
Living as a Purpose-Driven Mom and Business Owner
Have you ever felt a nudge that you’re meant for something more? Maybe there’s this whisper in your heart, asking you to take a leap, try something different, or follow a dream that feels just out of reach. If that resonates, you're not alone. Jennifer McDaniel’s story is a powerful reminder that when we embrace our purpose, life begins to change in incredible ways.
Jennifer is a professional organizer, podcast host, and a purpose-driven mom who chose to follow God’s path, even when it wasn’t easy. Her journey reminds us that even through the chaos of motherhood and life’s countless twists, there’s space to listen to God and pursue the purpose He planted in our hearts.
The Power of Saying Yes
In 2019, Jennifer took a step that opened doors she never knew existed. She attended the Created Order Conference, an event designed to help women uncover their God-given purpose. Life, of course, didn’t make it easy for her to get there.
Jennifer’s journey to the conference was filled with obstacles. A broken leg (her daughter’s, on her birthday!), her husband’s slow recovery from surgery, and countless family challenges made it feel like everything was against her. But despite it all, Jennifer heard a persistent voice telling her she needed to go.
She trusted that feeling and made the six-hour trip to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she stayed with her grandparents. What happened next was nothing short of transformational.
Listening to God in the Chaos
Jennifer arrived at the Created Order Conference tired, overwhelmed, and yearning for clarity. As a mom of four, with countless responsibilities and a house full of daily chaos, she knew she needed space to refocus.
At the conference, surrounded by a room of women on the same mission, Jennifer felt peace. The theme of the event—living with purpose over possessions—spoke to her deeply. She had spent so much time filling other people’s needs that she’d lost sight of her own.
And then, during one of the sessions, she felt God’s voice clearly. “You’re going to do this and more,” He said. At first, she didn’t understand. Speak in public? Guide others? How could she take on something so big when life already felt overwhelming?
Jennifer left the conference with a renewed sense of direction, even if she didn’t have all the answers yet.
Finding Her Calling: From Mom to Organizer
Back home, Jennifer began looking at her own life through a new lens. Her natural ability to organize—whether it was creating capsule wardrobes for her kids or designing efficient systems for her home—wasn’t just a skill. It was her calling.
“I’ve always been organized,” Jennifer shared. Growing up as one of seven kids taught her how to stay on top of chaos. But it wasn’t until years later, as a mom herself, that she realized she could use her gift to help others.
Her focus on creating calm in busy households became her mission. She started helping moms simplify their laundry, wardrobes, and homes—things that can feel so overwhelming in day-to-day life. Jennifer’s knack for breaking big tasks into small, manageable steps helped transform the lives of countless women.
“I want to fix that weight moms feel,” she explained. “Because I’ve been there, and I know how heavy it is.”
The Role of Mentorship and Saying Yes
Jennifer credits much of her growth to mentorship and community, starting with the conference. The experience of being surrounded by supportive, like-minded women gave her the encouragement to take action.
Having a mentor or a circle of support allows you to feel permission to take small, intentional steps, even when everything isn’t perfectly lined up. Jennifer found that even in seasons of chaos, God opened doors as long as she kept moving forward.
“If you feel like you’re being called to something bigger, but you don’t have all the answers, take the first step,” Jennifer says. “God will give you the tools, people, and opportunities you need along the way.”
Teaching Simplicity and Peace
One of Jennifer’s favorite aspects of her business is helping moms find simplicity. From creating capsule wardrobes to optimizing home layouts, she’s made it her mission to help women reclaim their time and energy.
For Jennifer, it’s not just about decluttering—it’s about creating a sense of control and peace in the home.
Instead of basket-loads of laundry piling up or closets filled with mismatched items, Jennifer teaches families to work smarter. She shares practical tips like organizing clothes so kids can dress themselves effortlessly or keeping all gift-wrapping supplies in one spot.
These small wins add up, giving moms one less thing to stress about in their already packed days.
Living With Intention Every Day
So, what does living intentionally feel like? For Jennifer, it’s knowing she’s on the path God set for her.
Her days might still be filled with the craziness of school schedules and family life, but her work feels meaningful. She wakes up with purpose, knowing she’s making a difference in someone’s life.
“I’m not stuck in the daily mess anymore,” Jennifer shares. “Even on frustrating days, I can look back and see where God used me.”
It’s this sense of alignment that keeps her going. Living as a purpose-driven mom means knowing you’re doing what you’re made to do—and helping others along the way.
Are You Ready to Say Yes?
Jennifer’s story is a reminder that even in the busiest, most overwhelming seasons, we’re all capable of living out our purpose.
If you feel like there’s something more waiting for you, start by asking God to reveal it. Then, surround yourself with the right people—the ones who inspire and encourage you to grow.
It might not happen overnight, and obstacles could pop up along the way. But saying yes to your purpose is the first step. Trust God to lead you, and you’ll be amazed at where the journey takes you.
